Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Mexican cheese
  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 small tomato
  • 3 pitted black olives
  • 1 large garlic clove, smashed
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeds removed and finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the guacamole by mashing avocados in a bowl. Mix in garlic, salt, pepper, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, and lime juice until combined.
  2. In another bowl, stir together sour cream with chili powder, cumin, and salt until smooth.
  3. Assemble the dip in a serving platter: start with refried beans at the bottom, layer guacamole on top, followed by seasoned sour cream and chunky salsa. Finish with shredded cheese.
  4. For decoration, top with diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, and use extra sour cream to create a spiderweb design. Arrange three black olives for an edible spider.
