Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices hearty white country loaf or French bread
  • 2 organic apples, thinly sliced
  • 250 g brie cheese, cut into thin slices
  • 3 tbsp butter for spreading
  • 4 tbsp hot honey butter (omit chili flakes if preferred)
  • 2 tbsp salted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 tbsp mild honey
  • 1/4 tsp hot chili flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Start by slicing the apples and brie cheese.
  2. In a bowl, mix the salted butter and honey along with chili flakes until smooth to create hot honey butter.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side, layer brie slices, apple slices, and a drizzle of hot honey butter before topping with another slice of bread (buttered side facing out).
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, then place sandwiches in the skillet. Cook until golden brown (about 3–4 minutes per side).
  5. Once done, let them cool slightly before slicing in half and serving warm.
