  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until it turns amber (about 2–3 minutes). Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Combine cooled brown butter with granulated and brown sugars; stir until mixed. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until just combined. Cover the saucepan and refrigerate the dough for at least one hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll chilled dough into balls (about 1½ tablespoons each) and coat them in powdered sugar before placing on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until set and lightly golden around the edges. Allow cooling before transferring to a wire rack.
