  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) whole milk (hot)
  • 100 g (1/2 cup) butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brown butter by melting 100 g of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it turns deep golden brown and smells nutty; then remove from heat.
  2. Peel and quarter 900 g of potatoes, boiling them in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and let steam dry.
  3. Mash the steamed potatoes in the pot, adding 50 ml of hot milk. Mix until mostly smooth.
  4. Incorporate the browned butter into the mashed potatoes, mashing until completely smooth. Season with salt to taste.
