  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and sauté diced onion until soft. Then add ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until browned.
  3. Stir in mayonnaise once cooked through.
  4. Cut dinner rolls in half and place bottom halves on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese followed by the beef mixture and shredded cheese.
  5. Place top halves of buns cut-side down on top, brush with melted butter, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
