  • 1 medium green cabbage (cut into 8 wedges)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion (minced)
  • 5–6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Trim the cabbage and slice into wedges, keeping part of the core intact.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear cabbage wedges until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Transfer the wedges to a baking dish and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter, sauté onion and garlic until soft, then add chicken broth and simmer for one minute.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  7. Pour sauce over cabbage wedges and bake for 45–50 minutes or until tender.
