  • 3 ribs celery, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely minced
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 pound wide noodles, such as pappardelle or tagliatelle, cooked

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add grated carrot, minced celery, and minced onion; cook for about 4 minutes until tender.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, approximately 8 minutes.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 30 minutes until thickened. Mix in heavy cream before removing from heat.
  4. Serve the bolognese over cooked wide noodles and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
