Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup butter

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts into tenders. In a bowl, combine milk, lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and hot sauce. Marinate chicken in this mixture for at least 30 minutes (overnight is best).
  2. Set up two bowls: one with whisked eggs and another with flour mixed with remaining spices.
  3. Coat each chicken tender first in flour, then egg, followed by another layer of flour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat (about 350°F). Fry tenders in small batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stir in honey, lemon zest, garlic, and lemon pepper seasoning; bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Toss cooked tenders in the sauce or serve on the side for dipping.
