  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Trim and rinse the green beans.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter until melted.
  3. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms; cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.
  5. Stir in green beans, salt, and pepper. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Remove lid, add remaining butter and lemon juice; stir well.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with parsley if desired.
