  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 3 jalapeño peppers (thinly sliced)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
  • cooked chicken or turkey (substitute for bacon)
  • 1 egg (beaten)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about ¼” thick on a floured surface.
  3. Spread cream cheese on one half of the pastry, top with jalapeño slices and half of the cheddar.
  4. Fold the other half over and seal firmly.
  5. Cut into strips about ½” thick and twist each strip before placing on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle remaining cheddar on top.
  7. Bake for approximately 18 minutes until golden brown.
