  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, egg, melted butter, pumpkin puree, and vanilla until combined. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, eggs, vanilla, pumpkin puree, melted butter, and spices until smooth. Pour over the cake base.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. For frosting: Beat powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Spread over the cooled cake.
