  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 shallots (can substitute 1 Vidalia onion)
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup white grape juice
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (more or less according to taste)
  • salt
  • 2 tbsp minced fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced shallots and sauté until browned.
  2. Mince garlic cloves and add them to the pot, sautéing until fragrant.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste; let simmer before adding white grape juice.
  4. Cover partially and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Mix in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes until well combined.
  6. Add fresh basil and cook for an additional minute.
  7. Remove from heat and serve with your favorite pasta.
