  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1.5 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together cooking oil, lemon juice, paprika, salt, thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, oregano, and optional sugar and cayenne.
  2. Pat chicken dry and coat thoroughly in the marinade. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat skillet or grill pan over medium heat (375°F for air fryer) and lightly oil the surface.
  4. Cook marinated chicken until a dark crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (7 to 15 minutes in air fryer).
  5. Rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
