  • 4 pounds ground beef
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 4 cans (15 ounces each) diced tomatoes
  • 2 large yellow onions, diced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp Adobo Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 4 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
  • 5 cups water
  • 6 bay leaves
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp dried sage
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add minced garlic and diced onions; sauté until translucent (3-5 minutes).
  3. Brown the ground beef in the pot; drain excess fat.
  4. Pour in water, beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and all seasonings; stir well.
  5. Bring to a simmer; reduce heat and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Stir in shredded cabbage; cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until tender.
  7. Remove bay leaves before serving and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
