  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sausage slices for about 5–7 minutes until slightly crisp. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add diced onion; cook until softened (3–4 minutes). Stir in minced garlic for another 30 seconds.
  4. Lower the heat; add softened cream cheese and whisk until melted. Slowly incorporate heavy cream; simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Fold in shredded cheddar until smooth; season with salt and pepper.
  6. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cauliflower, and browned sausage. Pour cheese sauce over and mix until evenly coated.
  7. Transfer to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 15–20 minutes until bubbling and lightly golden on top.
