Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets (skin on)
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 tbsp salted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, dill, and parsley; set aside.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels for crispy skin.
  3. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Season both sides of the salmon fillets with sea salt and black pepper.
  5. Place the fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet; press down briefly to prevent curling. Sear for about 5-6 minutes until mostly opaque.
  6. Flip the fillets gently using a fish spatula and add the herb butter mixture around them. Cook for an additional minute until desired doneness is reached.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over each fillet.
